Amiganoid ?198?This entry gives me a lot of headaches. The game was reviewed in Gen4 magazine back in 1988. But I could not find anything anywhere else about this particular game. All references to a game with the title "Amiganoid" are for a 1993 version from Digital Illusions, which by the screenshots is a totally different game.***

Infection Virgin Mastertronic (Wise Owl Software)1988The original (see influences) with added sound, music, improved AI and graphics. Though never commercially released, it was officially provided on the Internet for free after the decision not to commercially publish it. This was the first version of the 2nd round of Infection games. It is possible the some or all of the others in this round are ports rather than conversions.

Amiga Encounter Novagen1991Encounter! is a fast paced arcade game set in a sci-fi environment which features fast moving three dimensional graphics. You command a probe vehicle with which you have to shoot down enemy saucers and homing missiles. When you have shot down the required number of enemies on one level (usually around 10-20) you get the chance to go through a "stargate". In the stargate you have to navigate through a hail of spheres coming at you at high speed. If you succeed you get to a new planet in different color scheme, if you fail you'll have to replay the previous planet. There's eight levels in total.***
